According to the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) Dermatology, several epidemiological studies show an alarming global increase in incidence of melanoma and non melanoma skin cancer.  A recent study showed that the total cost of total body skin examination (TBSC) can result in $37,365 in quality-adjust life-year (QALY).   For men, the QALY value is $20,044.  The researcher concluded, after studying 1,668 participants, that a one-time TBSC for adults over 18 are a cost-effective way to extend life.
